In Quechua, the peccary in the cloud forest is called Sach'a Khuchi. Sach'a Khuchi has poor eyesight and recognizes family and friends based on their skunk like scent. Sach'a Khuchi is a social animal, yet cannot be tamed and will warn strangers away by barking or "chuttering" (rubbing tusks together).
